In preparation for Irene’s arrival to our area, Civista Health would like to advise you of the following important information.

Beginning 4:00PM Saturday, 8/27, and until further notice, all entrances to the hospital with the exception of the ED will be closed.

Emergency Services have set up shelter areas in LaPlata for all residents including special needs and chronically ill patients (See notice below). Transportation assistance may be provided if needed. Residents may call the Emergency Operations Center at 301-609-3435 for assistance.

Charles County will be opening an Emergency Shelter at Milton Somers Middle School at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27. Pets are welcome. Please remember to bring all medicines that you may need.

For non-emergencies you may call 301-609-3435 and your call will be answered and directed by someone at the Emergency Operation Center.

The La Plata Police Department will also be opened for those that need to seek shelter. The Police Department is located at 101 La Grange Avenue.
