Civista Health Receives Historic Space for Expansion

We are pleased to announce that the Charles County Commissioners have voted unanimously to transfer 3.671 acres of land including the building known as the original Physicians Memorial Hospital to the Civista Health Foundation.

The building, constructed on Garrett Avenue in 1938 as a result of a devastating tornado, has historic significance as the first hospital in Charles County. It is very fitting that it will once again become a part of the Civista Medical Center campus and offer much needed room for expansion of the services we provide to the community.

We appreciate the Charles County Commissioners’ commitment to Civista and their support of our mission to provide healthcare services to the citizens of Charles County.

Congratulations! And am glad to hear that the Charles County Commissioners’ are committed to our community and supporting the mission of Civista with providing healthcare services to the citizens of Charles County. This is much needed and will be an asset to Civista as well as a memorial piece in time: times to be remembered and now shared with the community at the same time providing opportunity to provide more space to provide care to our community. Thanks.
