Was held Friday, September 20, 2002 at "Linden", an 18th century home on Mitchell Road in La Plata. The fully restored farmhouse is part of a 47-acre farm and is home to our hosts, Captain and Mrs. A.N. Briggs.

This year, guests will sampled regional wines and enjoyed a light supper prepared by Chef Chris Winters of Pilot's Wharf Catering. Live jazz music floated on the breezes as guests also sampled microbrews, or enjoyed a mixed drink or soft beverage from the cash bar. There were opportunities to bid on unique packages in our silent auction, and winners were announced for our beautifully crafted centerpieces.

The Foundation invites local businesses to participate in the event's sponsorship program. Sponsorships are available and provide numerous benefits for visibility as well as complimentary reservations. Businesses can participate at a variety of levels: Connoisseur, $2,500; Double Gold Sponsor, $1000; Vintage Silver Sponsor, $500; Regal Bronze Sponsor, $250; Sparkling All Star Sponsor, $100; and Silent Auction Sponsor, donation of item with value of at least $50.

The Foundation was pleased to have early and strong support from several sponsors. Double Gold Sponsors include Morgan Stanley Ð Waldorf, Sam's Club, Southern Maryland Newspapers and Wildes-Spirit Design and Printing. Vintage Silver Sponsors include Maryland Bank and Trust and Lenhart Development Group. Event details were orchestrated by a strong volunteer committee, including Co-Chairpersons Patti Thiel and Linda Wise along with committee members Phyllis Bartilucci, Kay Davis, Suzanne Denton, Janie Fritz, Nancy Gasparovic, Teresa Lutich, Tracy Messick, Judy Mudd, Pete Perry, Joyce Riggs, Gary Simpson, Pam Smith, Rob Sterling and Kimberly Trumbull.

Reservations $40 per person or $30 for designated driver admittance.

Civista Health Foundation is a fundraising organization with a mission to enhance the hospital's financial resources so it may provide excellent health care services to all members of the community. Proceeds from this year's Wine Tasting event will be designated to help purchase equipment needs for Civista's Intensive Care Unit. The Foundation's grants to the Medical Center and its programs now total over $1 million.
