National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD) is April 16th, the date set aside each year to encourage everybody over age 18 to discuss and plan ahead of a serious illness. Five Wishes makes it easy because it is written in everyday language and deals with the things people care about most: their comfort, maintaining their dignity and other personal, spiritual and family matters.

Civista Health encourages community members to express their wishes regarding healthcare, and for providers and facilities to respect those wishes, whatever they may be. Complete an advance directive and name the person who will make healthcare decisions for you if you cannot make them yourself. Colon Cancer Health Forum on Thursday April 11th

The Charles County colorectal cancer mortality rate is higher than the Maryland state average. Join us on Thursday, April 11th at 11:30 am for a special community education presentation on cancer of the colon.

This free event will feature a panel of experts in colorectal cancer screening, detection, and treatment. They will discuss risk factors, screening recommendations, and the latest technologies available for treatment. Light refreshments will be provided.
