Civista Health is proud to sponsor Celebrate Waldorf Farmers’ Market Day, scheduled for June 23, from 9 a.m to 1 p.m.

The event will feature music, cooking demonstrations, tasting samples, information booths, and much more. A short program will start at 10 a.m. with a series of invited speakers including USDA Secretary Tom Vilsak, DHR Secretary Ted Dallas, SMADC Executive Director Dr. Christine Bergman, Charles County Commissioner Vice President Reuben Collins, and more.

The Waldorf Farmers’ Market was established in 2008 and is a producer-only market made up of a diverse group of vendors from the Southern Maryland region.

As of this season, market vendors will now accept credit, debit, and the USDA’s SNAP program (food stamp) payments. The market is the first in Southern Maryland to accept SNAP payments.
